Broadcast & Cable Media

The impact of the Broadband Internet will differ by media sector:

Broadcast Media is most at threat from interactive services - especially those that remove advertising eyeballs, and also from the rise of niche "narrowcast" channels and user produced content. It is also extremely vulnerable to services with a much better handle on their customer dynamics from having an interactive dialogue with them

Cable media in theory has a stronger position as in many cases it has the potential to deliver a strong interactive video experience, however in many cases the existing infrastructure, especially backend systems, is not capable of being integrated to drive these services with much more added value than pure broadband plays bring. Cable companies also face cultural challenges when developing content based services.

We have extensive experience working with broadcasters, content owners, satellite and cable operators rolling out new digital platforms and services.
